Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join the VSDB PTO?

Anyone who cares about the success of VSDB students—parents, guardians, family members, staff, alumni, and community supporters—can join the VSDB PTO.

I live far away from Staunton. How can I stay involved?

Many of our families live hours away. You can still participate by joining virtual meetings, responding to surveys, supporting fundraisers online, and staying connected through email and social media.

How do I join the VSDB PTO?

Fill out the form on our Get Involved page to let us know you’re interested in joining. You can also email us with any questions before you sign up.

How can I donate or support financially?

Click on the Donate button on our site or visit our Spirit Store to support VSDB PTO. All contributions go directly toward supporting VSDB students, staff, and community programs.

How much does it cost to join?

Our annual membership is free. Our primary goal is to build a strong, inclusive community that supports VSDB students and staff.

Does VSDB PTO support advocacy?

Yes, we focus on legislative advocacy and family engagement. Our VSDB PTO has a Legislative Director (LD) who helps coordinate advocacy efforts, share updates on legislation that impacts our students and school, and connect families with ways to get involved in advocacy.

How often does the PTO meet and can I attend virtually?

General membership meetings are held monthly during the academic year, with at least four meetings per school year. Notices are sent at least seven days in advance through school communication channels. Members may participate and vote remotely via approved electronic communication methods.
