SINCE 1839

A Legacy of Inclusion

Since 1839, VSDB has been a place where Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, and Visually Impaired students learn, grow, and build lifelong friendships. The VSDB PTO brings together families, staff, alumni, and community partners to support student life, celebrate our cultures and languages, and make sure every student feels seen and included.

Mission

To partner with VSDB administration and staff to secure resources, strengthen parent and family engagement, and advocate for the highly specialized services — including American Sign Language, Braille literacy, and Orientation & Mobility — that help every VSDB student reach their full potential in the least restrictive environment (LRE).

Vision

Every VSDB student graduates as an empowered, self-advocating, and independent citizen, ready for college, careers, and community life — with the VSDB PTO recognized as a model for supporting Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, and Visually Impaired students and families in the Commonwealth.

Bylaws and Governance

We believe in clear, accountable leadership. Our PTO board follows written bylaws and transparent decision-making so families, staff, and alumni understand how we operate and how funds are used to support VSDB students
